IS THE TRAIL OPEN? — The Trail is open! Phase One is complete from Haggerty Rd. in Commerce Township to Wixom Rd. Phase Two will be built this summer.


WHERE CAN I FIND PHASE TWO UPDATES? — Periodic updates will be available on our Trail construction page. Please note that the Temporary Route around the Phase Two work will change during the construction season as various sections are completed.


WHERE CAN I PARK? — There is ample parking for Trail use available at the Walled Lake Trailhead site, on  Pontiac Trail just north of Maple Rd.  Other parking areas include Gunnar Mettala Park in Wixom and the east end of the ShearWater apartments off of Maple, where there is a small parking lot for public use. The major parking area for the east side of the Trail is the new trailhead at the On The Dunes restaurant, just north of the Trail on Haggerty Rd. A new connector path links the trailhead to the Trail itself.


CAN I HOLD AN EVENT ON THE TRAIL?  In most cases the answer is yes, but any events must be approved by the Trailway Management Council and the Trail Manager. Please email for more information.


TELL ME ABOUT THE M-5 BRIDGE. — Constructed in 2018, the bridge is open and welcoming bikes, walkers, etc.  The blue "wave panels" are currently being repainted. More information and construction updates available on our Bridge page.
