Friends of the Michigan Air Line Trail

The Friends group, comprised of volunteers from all three towns and surrounding areas, supports the efforts of the Trail Council and serves as educators and ambassadors for the Air Line.  Trail cleanups and staffing of local events are just a few of the tasks that the Friends take on.

The Friends meet on the first Tuesday of the month. Right now meetings are at 6:30pm, and are currently held online, but the location may change every six months... check the website home page for the latest. Please join us!

Information will be posted here to join us prior to the next Friends meeting.

In partnership with Motor City Brew Tours, The Bike & Brew Ride will take place on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 5, 2021.  The ride will start and finish at Drafting Table and will follow a route east on the Air Line and the West Bloomfield Trails, turning around at a bar in Sylvan Lake/Keego Harbor (TBD) and returning to Drafting Table.

Registration will open in the Spring.  Please note that participation is limited to 150 participants.

Pedal For Prevention, September 25th-28th

The Pedal for Prevention cycling event will be held on Sunday, September 27. The event is intended to bring community awareness to substance use prevention, promote wellness and healthy activities in the Lakes Area, build positive relationships with Airline Trail and municipalities

and raise funds for a permanent kiosk/signage along the Airline Trail to contain permanent resources about addiction, mental health, prevention, and wellness.

The ride will start and end in Sibley Park in Downtown Wixom, and travel east to Haggerty Rd and back.
