Safer Road Crossings on the Trail
The Michigan Air Line Trail, like many newer rail-trails, was designed with added safety features. Eight of the road crossings on the trail include some type of warning beacon.
Some of these beacons are designed to alert motorists that a trail user is planning to cross, and some actually require a stop, much like a typical crosswalk.
